The equipment originally installed in the lower cone section was moved to the propulsion section, and then the cabin area was increased - I assumed that the previous design did not fully know how much propellant would be needed for the station overall, and then the TZ was designed pretty conservatively. The original video also mentions that the phased-array signal relay antenna can be used at a significantly reduced cost without affecting the original effectiveness. Meanwhile, TZ-6 increased proportion of domestically produced components.

A self-publishing blogger joins Lanspace's convoy to JSLC which delivered the Zhuque-2 Y2 rocket. When the commercial rocket launch site in Wenchang is completed, there will be no need to traverse the whole of China by road.

Landspace's convoy and Minsk which parked on the north bank of Sutong Yangtze River Highway Bridge shoot by same guy. I went on this carrier when I was a kid when it was still in Shenzhen :D

Add: the original interview by CCTV (no English subs, sorry) said that the TZ-6 will bring a set of xenon cans for HET.  TZ-6 will also carry 1.75t of fuel this time, and 700kg of it will be refuelled to CSS. "In the future, CNSA also plans to send a large refrigerator up there and hope the crew can eat fired beef in the space."

P.S.: Currently there's a little fridge in the Tianhe core module for medical laboratory samples. And another one at MT module for biological experiment samples: this one can provide -80℃, -20℃ and +4℃ in three different chamber.

Yin Rui(尹锐), deputy director of astronauts system, said in the interview of CCTV last night that, in these 71kg fresh fruit taken by TZ-6, including 4 different kinds of apples (around 50kg in total), 2 kinds of oranges, tangerine, and pears. In addition, a variety of juices (sugar cane, coconut, etc.) are prepared for easy and ready consumption. 

Make a correction: the international co-operate experiment project between Tsinghua and University of Tokyo, "Flame Instabilities Affected by Vortices and Acoustic Waves", was not "already in the station" previously, but taken by TZ-6 this time. It also bring a cube sat in12U called Dalina-1 Lianli made and developed  by Dalian University of Technology.

But most surprising me is a word from the live said by Chen Jie (陈杰), director of the integrated panning bureau of CMS last night:

"Under the latest mission plan, the CSS will operate for more than ten years in the long term. One to two cargo resupply missions and two manned missions will be carried out each year to enable the rotation of astronauts in orbit. Meanwhile, we'll also train international astronauts to participate in our joint flights."

The topping out ceremony of the launch tower of the commercial launch site No.1 at Wenchang Launch Centre was held.

"The launch tower has been topped out 20 days earlier, while 1# lightning tower was also topped out and 4# lightning tower is ongoing the lifting work on the eighth floor. The launch site No.2 has completed the digging of flame trench. Now is ongoing the concrete pouring." ... "The launch site was planned completed construction at end of this year - which means there's 7 months left. And Hainan is currently entering the rainy and typhoon season, which has significant impact on the construction schedule. There are also issues such as the optimisation and adjustment of the technical area, the launch of the second phase of the project and the acquisition of land for the project, all of which are constraining the completion of the project on schedule. The construction team will comprehensively push forward the construction progress of the refuelling and gas supply, the main road of the launch area, the substation, and the intelligent launch site system. The construction team will scientifically construct the project to ensure the quality, progress, and safety of the construction." ... "The current construction progress is in line with the expected plan and is expected to ensure the first flight in the second quarter of 2024 on schedule."

LANDSPCE's official weibo: after travelling through dozens of provices and cities, covering more than 3700km in nine days total, Zhuque-2 Y2 rocket has arrived at LANDSPCE rocket launch site at JSLC on 12 May 2023.

Hainan gov's official website: the following work of launch site No.1 is the construction of rotating platforms, launch pad, diversion device and other 35 sets of equipment production and installation. Currently, 75 sets of pressure vessels from refuelling and air supply systems, 406 sets of refuelling valves, 11,000m of refuelling pipelines, 53 gas distribution stations, 2200 pieces of gas supply valves and 75,000m of gas supply pipelines are in production. The construction plan has been evaluated, and the installation has been submitted for approval. The first batch of 140 external refuelling pipelines has been delivered and begun the installation.

New Tiangong TV about crew went into the TZ-6 to unbox the parcels. However, the fruits and snacks were not the first parcel they open, but a cylindrical box a few cm2, less than 20cm high, and containing 6ml of stem cell solution - that is, the stem cell experimental unit. The cell is extremely fragile, so it has been taken out from the lab in T-6 hours and put it into TZ's cabin in around T-5 hours: thanks to the two ways hatch fridge design. And needs the crew take it out and put it into the fridge in Biotechnology Rack in WT Module after they finished the necessary tests and processes immediately.

The idea about designed the fridge with front and back doors. Loading something need to keep in low-temperature before the launch is pretty genius.

Meanwhile, TZ-6 also brings 714kg of experiment payloads, units, samples, consumables, spare parts, and shared support equipment, 98 in total.

CMS has issued an announcement about commercial resupplies services: Announcement on the Call for Proposals for the Overall Low-cost Cargo Transport System for Space Stations (《关于征集空间站低成本货物运输系统总体方案的公告》)

The announcement said that the organization and company would need to demonstrate an overall solution for the integration of low-cost cargo transport system. Which including cargo transport vehicle, launch vehicle and launch support.

The Chinese version CRS's main technical specifications requirements are:

  1. The orbit inclination is 41°~42° and the rendezvous and docking orbit altitude range is 340km~420km.
  2. Cargo transport spacecraft sealed capsule cargo uplift capacity ≮ 1.8t, sealed capsule cargo loading space ≮ 7m3.
  3. Capable of completing rendezvous and docking with the space station and dwelling in orbit for 3 months.
  4. The process of launch site tests to be able to launch ≯ 30 days.
  5. The cost of transporting goods >/ 120 million CNY per tonne
  6. Capable of controlled re-entry for destruction or return after evacuation from the station and can take 2t of waste.

 

The load ratio (the ratio of the mass of the cargo carried to the mass of the freighter hull itself) of the TZ is 48%. Assume that the company can do that in similar level, 50% of the load ratio. That needs at least send 4t to the LEO. Currently, those commercial companies still don't have proven experience to do so: Tianlong-2 from Space Pionner and PR-1 from CAS Space are 2t to 200km LEO. Zhuque-2 can send 4t but it's not successfully launched yet. For a while I couldn't really find anyone who could be particularly competitive here.
