Who Were the Recovery Divers (Gemini 4)?

This is a bit of an unusual request: I have an online friend who says that her father (who passed decades ago) might have been one of the divers from the USS Hoist when she served in the recovery flotilla for Gemini 4 in 1965.  Does anyone know of any civilian-accessible resources that might be able to confirm or deny?  She'd really like to be able to come by some video footage of the event, if any exists.

Lists some crew members, perhaps there are ways for registered members to communicate with any living crew. (gemini 4 was in 1965, so look for guys who served in that time period to ask).

That site is...  Not exactly a reliable source.  It takes the information from DANFS, which is mostly a very high level summary, and then supplements it from crew input.  They don't seem to do any QA either.  (The entry for my submarine contains multiple errors - including crew service dates in the 1940's, for a boat no built until the 1960's!)

You might want to try the ship's logbooks (deck logs), at the National Archives. This kind of information is available to family members, but it takes quite a bit of searching and homework on your part. I (we) have been there and done that, researching and tracing the footsteps of both my father (Korea) and his brothers (WW2, Europe & Pacific). Expect to make contact with the Navy and the National Archives in your quest; And, keep pushing, be persistent.
