Multiple Mod Version Check Notifications?

I'm getting triple notifications from the mod version-checker.  IOW, when I install a new mod that uses the version checker, I get 3 pop-ups asking if I want that 1 mod to check for updates.  And for previously installed mods, if 1 of them does have an update available, I get 3 pop-ups for that 1 mod.

How do I fix this?
