Blackscreen on Startup, only menu sound and mouse-icon

Recommended Posts

Sup Kerbals,
I'm trying to get help from the official forums since reddit doesn't seem to help, so here I go:

As of late, Im trying to get back into KSP, but it does not want to work.
I'm using the latest Steam-Version of KSP, a fresh install, on the latest Windows 10, without any mods, and the latest drivers for my GPU.

My System consists of:

  • i7 4720HQ
  • GTX 960m
  • 8GB Ram

So minimum Requirements shouldn't be an issue.

The problem is, when starting KSP 64-Bit, the game does not enter full screen mode, it opens up a window with approx. 1280x720 as its size. The KSP-esque mouse cursor shows up, and the menu-music starts playing, but i actually dont see anything on the screen, it's all black. When I try to enter fullscreen mode with Alt+Enter, KSP crashes with the following error-message:

Couldn't switch to requested monitor resolution

Switching to resolution 0x0 failed, trying lower one
Switching to resolution 0x0 failed, trying lower one
All resolution switches have failed
Screen: could not switch resolution (1280x720 fs=1 hz=60)

Trying it again with the 32-Bit version wont help (and wouldn't be an option after all), the only difference is that no window opens up whatsoever, leaving me with the menu soundtrack only. trying to tab into the KSP-window does nothing, although then trying to enter fullscreen mode with Alt+Enter gives me the same error message like the one i posted above.

Saves and Craft files shouldn't be an issue, since I tried to remove everything KSP-related off my computer for my latest install.

Here is a link to my 64-Bit output_log.txt
And a link to my dxdiag-diagnostic-file

Thanks for every bit of help getting me back into my seat of my munlander (:
Greetings and a happy new year!
