Tweakables adjusting unevenly

Recommended Posts

I've found an interesting (and very annoying) bug that affects "tweakable" sliders on various parts in the VAB and SPH.

(Imgur link explains what I'm trying to express much better)

After attaching a part using either radial or vessel symmetry, I'll occasionally attempt to change a tweakable, be it the thrust limiter, authority limiter, or otherwise; and then I see its twin is unchanged.

Exiting and entering a save file doesn't fix the issue but a full KSP program restart does fix it (temporarily).

Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Question .... are you changing the root of your craft before this happens?

Almost certainly Doctor Davinci, I haven't specifically noticed it taking effect after changing root part but I am constantly changing root parts for various reasons. Do you believe that could be the cause?

I believe that is exactly what is causing your problem then ... if you change the root of your craft the symmetry will reset itself to that part which will bork your symmetrically placed part tweakables if you change the root to one of the symmetrically placed parts

I had the same sort of issue with DCK Paintshop and the texturing of all parts on a craft at once in the SPH ... the texture switching would get screwed up if a user switched the root of the craft to a symmetrically placed part and I think you are experiencing the exact same thing ... A fix was put into the DCK Paintshop code but not sure of any stock means of fixing the issue

Interesting, I will definitely pay attention to this while playing today and see if it triggers the bug. Thank you so much for your help!

I'll look into DCK as a fix if the problem persists.

DCK won't fix the issue ... There is a snippet of code in Paintshop that fixes it for Paintshop, nothing more

If you want a fix for the problem then you would need to write code that addresses the problem ... probably some sort of monobehaviour deal I would think but it needs to hook into the tweakable settings whereas the code in DCK addresses DCK and nothing else

Ok I understand. Maybe I could look into DCK's code on how they solved it in order to address my own issue.
