Indeed. For example, I threw this Buran clone together after the earlier discussion in this thread:

The LRBs are arranged in mirror symmetry such that the whole stack has symmetric thrust at liftoff. The LRBs closer to the orbiter have a lower thrust setting, so they continue to burn after the other pair is jettisoned, preserving a thrust vector close to the CoM. The four main engines are mounted on a single part which is rotated ever so slightly toward the orbiter, so thrust symmetry is still good at second LRB separation, but as the core booster loses fuel I eventually use an action group to shut off two of the engines to keep everything lined up.

I wonder how small a Buran clone I could make without Tweakscale...maybe a single Vector on the core and Sparks on the four boosters?
