Hi I'm trying edit an ion engine and I've managed to give it more vac thrust but I can't seem to find where to change the asl thrust. I'm sure it's right in front of me but I'd appreciate it of someone could pointment at it for me. =P

Also im trying to find out where to edit  the energy and xenon cost. Thanks for the help!

Welcome to the forums! :)

You're tripping over a very common pothole with engine editing, which is that fuel usage, atmospheric thrust and electricity consumption are not set directly. Instead, they are - physically correct - functions of specific impulse, and calculated automatically by the game based on that value. This old thread deals with those questions, and should provide you all the answers you seek (but read the whole thread, not just the first reply ).

But while that may be fun to learn for some, ask yourself: do you just want to tweak the Jewel-4? Or would you like to tweak all the engines in Near Future Propulsion, if only it wasn't so much effort? Because if you go into the Patches subdirectory inside your NF Propulsion install, you will find a file called "NFPropulsiontweakPatch.cfg", written by yours truly. Through some arcane Module Manager witchraft, it allows you to change vacuum thrust, fuel consumption and electricity needs of all the engines in the mod (plus the stock Dawn) at once, while maintaining their predefined internal balance - all without having to know any of the stuff mentioned above.

Of course, that doesn't do anything for atmospheric thrust. In order to do that, you still have to write your own patch. Hint: it's the atmosphereCurve thing!

Oh man! Thanks so much for making all those mods. I really love your stuff. =)

I'll read over that and see if I can figure this out =P
