I was wondering if it was possible to set up a base on Minmus, and then go into a Geostationary orbit around Minmus with a station, and have the too linked (either by structural girders or KAS tubes.)

This probably has a very simple solution, but  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

No, the Minmus sphere of influence isn't big enough. 

Can't see why it wouldn't work on Moho, Eeloo, or Dres though. In theory at least. In practice you'd probably run out of memory due to part count or hit some other similar limit.

I was told Minmus had Geo orbit and the Mun didn't.

Did any of the 1.x.x update change ROIs?

Hey, I was wrong -- it used to be impossible, but now it's not. Minmus synchronous orbit is at a bit over 357 km, which is within its SoI. 

So yeah, this would be possible, in theory, if you're able to build a 357 km long boom. I don't think this would be possible in stock KSP as the part count would be absurdly high, but maybe with a mod...?

I think that it is impossible simply because you cannot have a craft longer than the physics limit (3km). What about gilly?

On the other hand, the physics limit can be set in a config file... if you set it to 50/400 km it might work, although it would probably be better not to have too many craft within that radius anywhere...

I've seen a post about a "monorail" from KSC to the island airport; as I recall, it was made with tweakscaled fuel tanks or fuel fuselages, supported periodically by pylons (standing on the bottom of the ocean!), and traversed by a train.  Yes, it required mods, but no, as I recall it didn't give any trouble with physics range -- and that's well over 50 km, as I recall.

the stock physics range is too small, but there are mods to increase that. 

But I wouldn't  be surprised to have the station attachedby all kind of phantom forces since how KSP handles multipart crafts.
