1.4 Milestone/Contract errors

Periodically, when I complete a mission or milestone, instead of the usual notification I get this torrent of orange text and upon landing get hundreds of science points, hundreds of thousands of credits, and reputation is capped out. I run the game through steam, so the first thing I tried was validating the game cache, which did indeed find and replace one bad file, but the error reoccurred about three or four hours of play later. I'm not certain what causes it, as by the time I'm aware something has gone wrong I'm most of the way through a launch completing contract objectives. Validating the cache continues to be an effective band-aid, but it's real irritating to have to drop out and fix the game in order to finish a mission. Pastebin here of (what appears to be) the relevant part of the log the last time this happened.

I'm running windows 10 64-bit build 16299, though on reflection I think I have not been selecting the option to launch KSP in 64 bit mode. KSP version is 1.4 as provided by steam, recently updated from whatever the current version was last september. If needed, I've got a quicksave from just after the most recent occurrence I could probably upload, but the issue doesn't appear to be tied to particular saves.

The error continues to occur when I launch in 64 bit mode. Full log file of a successful tourists-to-orbit mission followed by a nigh-identical mission that encountered the error upon reaching orbit is in this new pastebin. Un-installing and re-installing KSP does not seem to have changed anything.

Have you completely wiped all traces of KSP from your computer and steam backups between installs?
Steam just uses the leftover files from the last install, sooooo I would guess that the error is contained within one of those files.

Just delete the KSP folder in steamapps after uninstalling. That should force steam to get fresh files.
