How to Build a Shuttle?

I've been playing the game for some time now and have build SSTOs, but not shuttles. So does anyone have any tips on how to do it? I'm not especially interested in coventional designs.

Shuttles are hard.   You're either launching a lopsided payload - like the space shuttle did...  or you're launching a system with wings at the TOP of the stack, like Dreamchaser will supposedly do.  Neither is easy.   But there are videos out there that demonstrate examples of doing both.

Need a bit more in the way of definitions, then. A winged TSTO? How many kerbals? How far do you want it to go? Cargo? Other special capabilities?

If you are interested in unconventional designs, that's good -- it makes it easier to get something that works. But it expands the possibilities a little too much to guess what you are trying to achieve.
