Andrezado
Is there an way to like, make the orbit be like ... an upside down orbit?I mean, not horizontally. Vertically. I need my orbit to be vertical, but how do i do it?
Ydoow
Erm...use Cardinal directionsYou mean like instead of going east-> west (or vice versa) you want the orbit going north-> south? In actual terms, you want a polar orbit instead of an equatorial? Andrezado
Yeah! That's exactly and precisely what i mean! How do i do it?
Endeavour
There is a thread called orbital mechanics 101 in the How-to section. Watch the first video
Ziff
If you are launching from Kerbin, then it's easy. Just don't turn to a 90 degree heading (east) turn to 0 or 360 for North, or 180 for South. Done, follow same procedures as for a normal launch. It may take a little more fuel though.
Ydoow
Yeah it's pretty simple, but takes a little bit of practice to get used to it.You must remember that Kerbin is spinning West -> East, so you are already moving in that direction upon launch. Making it go perfectly Polar will take a bit more effort and require you to burn East -> West slightlyI've always found it a bit hard to do on my own. It's easiest if done right as you launch, but it's still possible to adjust when you're in orbit
Andrezado
All right. Thank you very much to you guys I shall now try to do so.EDIT: Is there an way to do that in MechJeb? Its quick and easy.
