Advanced Surveyor Mission

The Advanced Surveyor is a semi-manned satellite designed for Munar or Minmus research. The vessel combines this with a lander module capable of long-range travel, although an attempt to send it from Minmus to the Mun to Kerbin failed due to lack of fuel. An Angel VI spacecraft was able to rescue the stricken command pod's crew and return them to Kerbin safely.

Dilner Kerman even did a spot of Minmus base jumping after completing the satellite's startup procedures.

Ed Kerman proved that Kerbals can stand on water.
