Werner says: "Select Observe Mystery Goo for the experiment" but what you have to choose in order to move on with tutorial is "Research cube".

There are other moments where Werner says something other then what is wirten in the game so:

Vessel Landed vs Landed Vessel

Logic category vs Utility

Actions category vs Currency and Score

Such things can get unnecessarily confusing.
