Having trouble with KIS on Minmus

When I land on Minmus I can right-click on the MK1 Command Pod and see the correct inventory for the scientist(wrench) and the engineer(powerdrill). I then EVA the engineer and right-click on him -- he does not show an inventory button in the popup during EVA. I put him back in the command and can see his inventory. Thoughts?
