NuclearWarfare
Hey there. I recently bought the full version of KSP after playing the demo for quite some time. I installed a good bit of mods and know I want them all gone. I still have the files and I will put back the few I want, but is there a way to delete the mods without deleting the stock stuff in the parts section? Yes, I should have put them in a seperate file inside the parts, but I didn't think about it or know if that would work. While in the discussion of mods, any recomendations? I'm going to keep KW Rocketry but anything else in mind? I'll get toshs carts when I learn to get to the Mun...
ramipro
You can download again the compressed file from the main page. Go to "store", and from there you can go to your profile typing your email and password. There, at the bottom of the page, you should see a "Download" button Hope it helped! (Make sure you back up your ships and saves!) Edited August 20, 2012 by ramipro
maltesh
Easiest way (Assuming your internet speeds and data caps are fast and loose enough to do so) is to log into the store and download a clean copy of the game. Perhaps save the .zip file on your hard drive somewhere to unleash it again should you get the desire.Another option would be to sort your parts folder by Date Modified. If you didn't carry forth any of your mods from the demo version, all the stock part folders will have the earliest date.
Capt'n Skunky
A word of warning, installing the latest version, or any version for that matter, over top a demo install is a bad idea. The safest way to do this is to delete the demo then install the store version in a fresh directory.Cheers!Capt'n SkunkyKSP Community Manager
vexx32
Well, yeah... but that applies to just about any version. If installing a new version without the patcher, it's always a good idea to delete the old version first. Weird things happen otherwise...
ash73
Couple of suggestions:1. I created a separate folder called '01stock' which contains a copy of all the stock parts and then install this as a mod with the Mod Manager software. If I want to go back to a clean install I just delete everything from the parts and plugins folders and re-install the stock 'mod'.2. I find Kerbal crashes frequently if I have too many parts, so I created a '02favourites' mod which contains only the parts and plugins I commonly use from various mods. By cherry-picking I can keep the total number of parts under 150, and also be sure that any ship I save will always load.3. I always rename the parts from each mod to include a three letter identity at the start of the folder names (a few mods do this already), so they are all listed together in the parts folder. Helps with house-keeping. Add extra mods to try them out, and if you really like a part then move it to your 'favourites' mod (move rather than copy, to avoid conflicts). If it gets in a mess just delete everything from parts and plugins, and re-install these two 'mods' to return to a known baseline.Hope that helps!
