VTOL pilot aids?

Admit it, you've probably tried to do a VTOL bird at some point and found that... it's not easy. Matter of fact, it's downright difficult, especially if you're using air breathing engines. That slow spool time is dangerous while landing, and you're constantly chasing your navball marker, trying to stay on target. Surely, an autopilot could help, right? Now, I know there's the Atmospheric Autopilot mod (which I highly recommend, btw) for normal flight, but if you throw VTOL at it, it completely goes crazy. It's not sure what to do. MechJeb, bless its poor electronic heart, tries its best, but also can't cut it for air-breathing VTOL operations.

Does anyone know of a GOOD mod to help with VTOL ops, regardless of what parts packs you include in your build? Something flexible enough to handle rockets, tilt rotors, and jump jets.

TCA is the choice.  Note it does still have trouble with some air-breathing engines on occasion - mostly because the throttle lags, and TCA is continually adjusting the throttle.

Do expect a learning curve.  TCA is powerful and complex.

yep TCA can rendezvous with planets deobit and land without any help  its very good for simple and repetitive missions
