Rubber band joins at dockign port?

Not sure if I did something wrong, but I feel that once I joined my apollo clone, using the mini docking port, the craft start to sway like it's on rubber band. Should i enable autostruct (and to what -- root or grandfather?) and/or rigid attachment?

My general recommendation is grandfather. When you auto strut to root or heaviest it can do weird things as the struts try to attache themselves, especially when you dock something else.

In your case though I think you can get away with either one.

Also, when do we use rigid attachment?

Rigid attachment is usually more for things like multi-compound airplane wings. But you can also use it after you've done an autostrut, once you are in space, to make the region around your autostrut stiffer. It's something to experiment with -- there are no specific rules about it.

But I agree with steuben -- one grandparent autostrut that reaches across that docking joint should do it.
