How to stop Minmus base from flipping?

Recommended Posts

First off this forum has been great with the wiki in learning how to play. So thanks y'all for helping me figure out this great game.

Anywho I'm building my first base on Minmus. The three times I have docked with it to add a module the whole thing jumps up in the air and does a front flip. The first two times I was able to land it safely with RCS but now it seems to be jumping up 100 meters then crashing back down into a fiery mess.

So is there anyway to prevent this? Oh and the mods I am using are Distant Object, EVE, Kerbal Engineer, Planet Shine, Scatterer, and SVE.

Thanks

Welcome to the forums!

I'm not 100% sure, but in 1.3.x there was a bug where if you came out of time warp or switched to your ship, it would occasionally jump. I've experienced this a lot, and it's been the bane of my Gilly and Eve campaigns.

I'm about 80% sure it was fixed in 1.4. If you are still using 1.3.x I recommend updating to 1.4.4.

I'm currently  playing 1.4.4

Just before the moment it docks, try switching focus to the other ship, and leave it there.

I tried switching and it still launched into the air when I docked the Module with my rover. Though I was able to land the base safely finally. I'm worried that it will get worse the bigger the base gets.

Use  kas  and  strap  it  to  the  ground  with  pylons

I would like to keep my game to stock parts and mechanics for the first play through.

i understand that, but using a mod to fix a bug/glitch/game flaw is something different IMHO
