Atomic Turbine Engines plz.

As featured in the books "Pandora's Star" and "Judas Unchained" these engines would use a nuclear fission reactor to heat a liquid fuel enough to force is to expand, and use the force of its expansion to drive impellers that in turn drive larger fans that blow air. Basically this is a turbofan engine that rather breaths whatever the ambient air is, and exhales faster air and irradiated superheated liquid propellant. It would have about the same liquid fuel consumption as the largest stock jet engine, but its thrust would INCREASE with atmospheric density, making it the perfect jet engine for use on Eve.

This concept could also be adapted to use monopropellant to drive the impeller.

There are a number of mods that offer atomic turbine engines - Atomic Age (now adopted by LGG). Also, i've seen a couple of plane mods that add atomic turbines. I don't build planes, so can't recall of the top of my head, but try some of the Mk2, Mk3 and Mk4 expansion parts mods

Yes... like project pluto... this is yet another request for some form of efficient atmospheric propulsion that works in atmospheres without O2...

I'd be happy with electric ducted fans, but I wouldn't mind a whole suite of new atmospheric propulsions for use on Eve, Duna, Jool (in theory), and any other appropriate mod world (such as Tekto from OPM).

It could include:

Electric fan

Monopropellant powered propellor

Air augmented rockets/ramrockets/turborockets

Oxidizer injected reciprocating engines

Nuclear thermal turbines
