Mod Database?

I know this has been suggested and worked to death multiple times, but that all involved alot of work.

Why not start a ModDB page? Its easy to setup and it is, like the title says, a mod database. Plus, its a much larger community, which could draw in even more players to KSP once they seen a cool new game release on the MDB front page. Have any of the devs ever considered this?

It would be really handy if we could search for mods by category, release date, A-Z, work-in-progress, filtering for version compatibility, etc. A central register would be a start, but some editorial content (reviews, hall of fame, most popular, etc) would be even better. Early days, I guess...

its planned to separate them by categories and to have filters to help searching. Did you red the first post of te first link?

It seems rather complicated to pretty much reform the entire mod building platform with the gip files.
