a couple questions, and a weird think in KER

Recommended Posts

ok, so trying a direct descent on the mun and around 12km or so my altitude just drops four or so thousand m, never seen this before, any idea what thats all about?

and what am i doing wrong trying to land? it seems that im doing fine until i reach almost landing speed and then after that throttle starts to push me faster and faster horizontally?

heres a video, its longish and boring, the error with KER's readout can be seen int he very begining, and the landing part is towards the end.

You're in the highlands or on the edge of a crater and try to land on a pretty steep slope.

Well you never try to bleed off the last 10m/s horizontal speed from the beginning and then keep your lander teeny tiny bit tilted to one side which builds up a few more m/s  before you actually see the ground because you try to land in utter darkness on a slope. You also might want to disable RCS and use precision control mode (caps lock) to finetune the last few steps of the landing.
