KSP MH 1.6 hard freeze when loading

Steam install, 64-bit:  Problems started when I added 1.6 MH during the winter sale.  During my first use of KSP-MH, I had a hard-freeze when I exited to the main menu from KSC.  This locked all inputs and outputs (keyboard, sound, etc.) during the loading screen, forcing a hard reboot.  Checked file integrity with Steam's utility and replaced two files as a result.  Attempted to restart KSP-MH, but would freeze on start like the log above.  Did a clean install of KSP and MH, same result.  each time, a file is getting corrupted that Steam replaces.  If MH is uninstalled, KSP runs fine like it has for over 200 hours.

Just in case, I ran chkdisk to find any dead sectors but came up empty.  Any other ideas?

Edit: To keep adding information, I can do an uninstall/ reinstall of MH to bring it back to life.  In addition if I move focus away from the program during load/ exit events, it prevents the KSP crash from taking out the rest of the system.  Most recent crash log here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1O7KUabeJdPQCQeIGKkXzwVi-3jrW7gnX/view?usp=sharing
