Destination: Mun, a stock 50s rocket replica

Recommended Posts

I have a bit of an obsession with retro-futuristic spacecraft, so I thought I'd have a crack at replicating the "Luna rocketship" from the 1950 film "Destination: Moon".

In the film the craft takes off vertically, flies to the moon and back in a single stage and then lands vertically; due to stock part limitations this version has to be boosted into orbit with a rocket and lands like a space plane. But unlike the film version this one has excess fuel (5km/s of Delta-V) so you could even do interplanetary missions!

Post it on KerbalX would be better, at least for this forum, since to download Steam crafts you need to login with a Steam version KSP.

Thanks for the suggestion, I don't have a KerbalX profile and to be honest I'm too lazy to make one atm so I just added the raw file.
