Copying craft from Steam version to PC version?

Collective mind,

Is there a way to get a copy of a craft that was uploaded to the Steam workshop if you do not have the Steam version of KSP? I have not been able to create a collection into which I can save the file I am interested in and I think this might be because I do not own the Steam version.  Is this actually true?  If so, are there any workarounds?

Not as far as I can see, it looks like they are tied to the KSP linked to your steam account. I don't own KSP on steam either, and I can't see any way to download craft from steam workshop.
Yet another way in which steam blows, use KerbalX for craft sharing.
This reminded me to close my old steam account though, so thanks for that.

Yeah, which is one reason why I didn't want the steam version of KSP (I bought it (I *think*!) before there *was* a steam version).  Maybe the folks who have the steam-version craft will put them on KerbalX.
