Ships keep reappearing in VAB folder during startup

Recommended Posts

After I installed the Real Scale Boosters mod and the Real Scales Booster Stockalike mod through CKAN and then deleted it through CKAN as well, the stock crafts that are related to the mod are still in the main VAB folder. After I deleted them because I don't need them, they came back in the folder after starting up KSP. I tried deleting them again, but they still came back. These files keep popping up after starting up the game. What am I supposed to do to solve this?

KSP: 1.6 Windows 10 64 bit

Problem: Stock files from the RSB mod and RSB Stockalike keep reappearing in the VAB folder despite being manually deleted

Mods Installed:

Click Through Blocker (Version 0.1.7.1)

Distant Object Enhancement (Version 1.9.1.1)

FMRS (Version 1.2.7.4)

KAS (Version 1.1)

KER (Version 1.1.5.7)

KIS (Version 1.18)

Mechjeb 2 (Version 2.8.3.0)

Module Manager (Version 4.0.2)

New Tantares (Version 17.0)

Recovery Controller (Version 0.0.3.7)

scatterer (Version 0.0540)

Toolbar (Version 1.7.18)

Toolbar Controller (Version 1.7.18)

Reproduction steps: In the first paragraph

It's probably saved in your steam cloud.

How do you delete the ships? Ingame or do you remove the files directly from the folder?

If I'm right, you sould be fine when you try to delete them ingame but just to be sure, I would suggest to remove the crafts and start the game not through steam but directly via the KSP_x64.exe.

Directly from folder. I can't delete it in-game because it is stock.

EDIT: When I used KSP_64.exe, it seems to fix the solution. However, how do I prevent Steam from saving those ships or delete them from the cloud?

Well, the easiest solution would be to disable the cloud at all, which can be done in the game properties in your steam library (just rightclick the game -> properties).
Since you have some mods installed, I would suggest to move the game out of your steam directory anyway. It's not possible to disable the auto-updates so any KSP update may break your game. As soon as the game is no longer located in your steam install directory, the cloud will also no longer affect it.
In this case, you'll always need to run the KSP_x64.exe directly but you can also add it back to your steam library as a "non-steam game" via the "Games" menu.

If you want to keep the game in steam and use the cloud, I have honestly no clue. You can find some solutions to this on google ("delete steam cloud files") but I've never tried something like this so no idea if it actually works. You can probably also contact the steam support and ask them to delete the KSP savegame from the cloud.
