Surface Experiment Pack - Deployable science for KIS/KAS! (v2.7 - 13/Jan/19)

Recommended Posts

I guess you're talking about this patch?

It's a ModuleManager patch so first of all, if you don't already have it, you need to install ModuleManager:

Then, create a new textfile somewhere in the "GameData" directory of your game, name it however you want but put the ".cfg" file extension on it. Copy&paste the content from the linked patch into the textfile, save it and you're done :)

I have a ModuleManager.4.0.2.dll. It's him? If so, how to open it and where and what to write?

Yeah, that's correct ;)

You don't open it, just create a regular text file somwhere in your GameData folder and copy&paste the patch in it.

A ModuleManager patch is not like a patch how you know it from other software. ModuleManager (MM) is a mod which:

-Does basically nothing on it's own
-allows you to modify the configs of the game without touching the original file

The MM patch contains the instructions for MM, which file is supposed to be modified and which changes are going to be made.  So if someone here on the forums talks about a MM patch, it's just a config file which contains information for MM, which other config need a modification and what's going to be changed. On game launch, MM reads all the patch and config files and applies the changes.

Well, I did it all. I opened the notebook. Copied there all that was on GitHub. Clicked "Save As" and saved it under the name "MM_SEP_plugfix.cfg". I put it in the "GameData" folder. But still nothing works. Maybe I did something wrong?

Both DStaal and I have told you this mod is broken in 1.7.1. A patch won't fix it. SEP itself is abandoned and will not be updated. Unless you know what you are doing, you shouldn't be using it anyway.
