Help understanding installation process

Hey all, I hope this is the right forum for this. Somedays my grandparents make me feel like a computer guru and other days I forget where I put a downloaded file. I currently am running KSP off of my MacBook Air and I have had KSP original package downloaded for quite sometime. I originally downloaded it off of Steam I believe, but don't remember my Steam login info. I'm trying to get that figured out now.

 I am running 1.4 version. I'm awful with understanding updates but apparently downloading the new ground breaking version of 1.7 2 won't work off my current version. So now I'm just wondering what do I have to do to update it. Thank you!

Well, when you got KSP originally on steam, you'll get the update there as well. Steam will always install the latest version, if you don't enforce an older KSP version via the BETA program.

As soon as you figured out your steam login informations, you should be fine

Yes, I downloaded KSP from steam back in 2015 or something. So I guess I'll just have to figure out the login info for that, but yeah I got the expansion in KSP and the base in Steam. Hopefully it turns out alright

May become a bit annoying to keep both, the base game and the DLC, up to date but they should work together. I cannot help you with your steam account but if you need any help to install the DLC once you figured out the login information, just ask for it
