Y'know, the only real issue I had with KSP v1.3.1 was with landed craft. I'm not sure if that was the version when physics stopped working, but it was the first version where I noticed things sliding UPHILL. That's a bug that still hasn't been fixed. If anything the spring/dampener mess has only gotten worse, especially for landed small craft.

Otherwise, 1.3.1 was about the first time I remember stock KSP being stable enough to run for more than an hour or so without crashing. I think I crashed 1.3.1 maybe twice. Good solid version, Unity physics weirdness notwithstanding. 

Even with the above, I voted for 1.0.5. As quirky as it was it's still the version I spent the most time playing. (And I haven't put in more than a couple hours _total_ since 1.4.5.)
