Subassembly and "Control from here" problem

Recommended Posts

Hi!

I just tried to make 3 subassemblies (Rover, Lander and carrier rocket). I found some tutorials, but they don't cover my problems:

- After connecting docking ports and decouplers (had to change the root nodes) Kerbal Engineer Redux only shows one stage of the carrier rocket, but not the stage of my lander

- I flew to the mun, switched "Control from here" to the lander (Navball changed) and undocked. After that I was unable to steer or do anything with the lander (Sleep mode was disabled). Also tried the same with my rover. Same effect.

- I tried to connect the rover to the lander with a docking port, but it seems I can't dock again

Is there an actual tutorial how to build and connect subassemblies? Not sure if I did everything in the right way...

Making subassemblies and then connecting them together again tends to mess up the staging order. Did you check that this was correct? What does the dV calculation of the stock game say?

Do you have a working control point on the lander or the rover? I.e. either a pilot Kerbal in a command pod, or a working probe core with commnet connection to the KSC.

What does the control icon in the top left of the screen just right of the time controls say?

Can you be more specific about what your problem is? To be able to dock, you need a docking port of the same size on both craft.
