jgjiscool
I have noticed that in many of the forum topics, many different names have been used for 'the planet' that KSP is based on. It's time to decide once and for all what the name of the planet actually is. If the administrators could leave a number of people to have their say on what they think it's called before actually telling us the official name of it, I would much appreciate it. Moach
Kerbin is the 'official' name, but 'Kearth' is a correct, albeit less formal alternative....'Kerbal' is also a possibility, but not as common, and very generic when used this way - since it then takes a 'everything / everyone / the world' meaning, rather than being an accepted form of reference to the planet itself....rule of thumb -Kerbin = that specific astronomical body (formal)Kearth = this world where Kerbals live (casual)Kerbal = (when used in this context) generic term for 'world' or 'everyone'Earth = third rock from the sun, no kerbals live there... or even know where it is
DoctorEvo
Kerbin is the 'official' name, but 'Kearth' is a correct, albeit less formal alternative....Sorta like 'Earth' vs. 'The world?'Or is 'Kerbin' more like 'Terra,' in that it's only rarely used, and strictly in astronomical circles? It all trickles down from that ancient language I studied in high school for some reason I can't remember...
