1.8 update stuck on loading screen MacOS

I was able to play KSP before the update. I run on Mojave 10.14.6. It starts the game and brings up the loading screen but doesn't load for me to access the menu screen. 

Any suggestions would be welcoming.

Read it, then do what it suggests re. uploading and linking logs and system info.

LGG informs me that the logfile name has changed to Player.log on all platforms as of 1.8.0, the location remains the same.
