0% GPU

Sometimes the game just gets stuck, then the GPU consumption goes from 30% to 0 and no longer gives any feedback. After 5 seconds everything suddenly works again. The longer I leave the game open, the more often it happens. It doesn't crash, it just hangs.  I have a 980ti and the latest drivers.

Then it's most likely not the GPU. Do you have more than 4GB of RAM?

I have 16gb 3200MHz and a I5 7600K
KSP and Windows are installed on one 1Tb SDD

I've noticed similar hiccups.

Do you have any mounted remote drive (like cloud drives or local LAN ones)?

Or any unused network connectors? (firewire/wifi/bluetooth)?

I have some but it shouldn't affect KSP, should it? It is stored on an SSD with windows installed on it

No it shouldn't, but it has previously appear that it does

Edit:
Unity seems to have some builtin "feature" that scans for possible drives/networks.
