134 Megapixel image of Kerbin

I managed to obtain this 134 Megapixel image of Kerbin from Mega as a TIF and then converted it to PNG. If I understand correctly, this is basically the global maximum zoom level visual (i.e. not color relief or slope or biome or something) image of Kerbin from Kerbalmaps.

I want to stress that I did not create the original image. The only thing you should give me credit for is finding it and finding a TIF converter that will do 99 MB files.

Example of high resolution: KSC.

Example of high resolution: a tiny lake in the middle of nowhere, not visible in a 4K image of Kerbin.

Example of high resolution: the largest lake on Kerbin and its largest Island. A smaller island is visible to the lower right.

It is strange that I downloaded this yesterday and was able to see it and zoom in on it.  Today, I cannot.  Linux Mint/Image Viewer (xviewer).  Reloaded from the source and same thing.  I'm digging in to find out what is going on.

All I can see now is a black-and-white checkered pattern.  The file/pixel stats look correct.  Hmm...

(Firefox opens the file OK, too.)

The only thing I've done in between is expanded /swapfile from 2G to 8G.

I haven't used Mint in probably half a decade and haven't heard Linux in years. I'm not sure what's going on on your end.

That's OK; I was kind of musing out loud...

I'll get to the bottom of it, because that's a great map.  And I can still use it in the browser.

Always kudos for Linux ; )

I don't know about either Mint or xviewer, but maybe I can interest you in geeqie, which was once gqview, is one of the better image viewers out there IMO, is in daily use on my Gentoo box, and has no issues opening this file.
