Are Newer version mods compatible with older versions of KSP?

I am relatively new to KSP, and I have run into a problem downloading mods for GameLinx's Planet Pack, which is in KSP 1.4.3 whilst some of the dependencies are in KSP 1.5

you should be able to get the dependencies in 1.4.3 if you look hard enough but you should never put current mods on an outdated ksp that is one sure way to break something
