I just want to put this out there that there is one easy way to get for planet to planet in 0.17.

This Vid shows you how you get from earth to mars, just pretend it is Kerbin to Duna ok :P

This works for all planets but make sure your timing is right. To get to Duna i would fast forward time so Duna is alttile farther in its orbit then Kerbin. this gives you the perfect trajectory to get there. Plz watch and learn. For those of you that have seen this Vid bare with me ok .

Yes the video is neat and a good promo for Curiosity. However it's not very practical for figuring out the details on what to do in KSP to get to Duna, or any other planet.

Kosmo-not has covered it in http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/showthread.php/16511-Interplanetary-How-To-Guide

That's good for anyone interested in the math required to figure out those details.

However, I highly recommend the Interactive Illustrated Interplanetary Guide and Calculator.

You can use the nifty calculator to figure out the timing and the angles.

Then get yourself on a nice intercept trajectory, and timewarp out until you are nearly there.

The tricky part will be performing a proper aero-braking maneuver. I'm guessing that the air will be thin and you will have to aim low, maybe something like a 20 km periapsis to put you apoapsis just outside the atmosphere when you come out.
