Problems with time warping

Recommended Posts

When trying to circularise my orbit, I try to time warp to get to the apoapsis point for a burn, but sometimes the timewarp won't go above 4x so it take AGES to get there. What am I doing wrong?

If you try to warp when in the atmosphere, you will go to physics warp which has a max of 4x.

after you are out of the atmosphere you would have to come out of physics warp before you can time warp.

Ok, that could be it, as my periapsis was quite close to the planet. But if you look at where the spaceship was on my screenshot I am way out of the atmosphere, so why would it still be in physics warp?

Because the game won't auto cancel physics warp, once you are out of the atmosphere you have to come out of warp altogether.  Then trying to warp again should use normal time warp instead.

Sometimes coming out of warp can give your ship a jolt, so best to wait a second or two for things to settle before warping again, as if the game thinks there are any forces other than gravity acting on your ship then it will use physics warp instead.
