I am building a space station and I have launched a large module but due to small docking ports its very insecure. I don't have any KAS parts up there but is there anything I can do to bring up a ship and strut the two KAS free modules together on an EVA?

You need KIS to attach parts in flight. It's not difficult, but KIS is having some problems in 1.10, so good luck.
