SM-25 Service Module

Recommended Posts

I've been trying to use the SM-25 Service Module in PS4 version and the fuel flow look fine when I'm building in the VAB, but the moment I save or try to launch it acts like it's out of fuel and it say the engine is oxidizer-starved. When I bring the assembly back into the VAB the fuel flow looks like the tanks are empty until you remove and reseat the it, then the flow looks good again, but once saved or launched the fuel goes out again.  The only way i can get fuel to the engine is to run a fuel line from the tank to the Service module body.  Also, when you launch with the shroud off the on the SM-25 and you revert back to the VAB it looks like the shroud is off, and it still shows as off in the settings, but you have to toggle the shroud setting to get it to back to normal.

These are bugs.  The bug-tracker (link link) sometimes has suggestions for how to avoid or work around bugs --- in these two cases I don't see any suggestions better than what you've found.

The SM-25 service module often needs fuel lines to access fuel from tanks inside it.

The bugs with shrouds are partially resolved in the later PC versions, but that fix might not have made it to the console versions yet.

Happened to me the other day... make sure to run fuel lines from any tanks you have to the base plate of the module.
