"the following expansions failed to load: breaking ground: expansion version [1.5.1] isn't a valid version that can be loaded! minimum[1.6.0] maximum [1.6.0]"

So I have a totally un-modded install. Months ago I bought the making history dlc, then more recently I bought the breaking ground dlc. I had played a science game far enough to have used the deployable science a few times and it worked. So friday I let steam update me to this new version so I could try the building in EVA features.

BUT each time I run KSP I get this message:
"the following expansions failed to load: breaking ground: expansion version [1.5.1] isn't a valid version that can be loaded! minimum[1.6.0] maximum [1.6.0]"

I played anyway and it works except that I cannot place any of the deployable science in any of the cargo container slots.

I'm thinking I should just uninstall and reinstall?

I would suggest uninstall/reinstall is your best first option- just BG at first, and if that doesn’t fix it the whole of KSP- back up your saves first!

I’m pretty sure that BG 1.6 is the version you need for KSP 1.11, the older version was released with an older KSP release and so won’t work with the new expanded inventory system.

After backing up my saves, I used steam to uninstall KSP and then reinstalled it. I get the same error still. Is there a way to install/uninstall/update just the BG?

I've been perusing the KSP folder and see that not all the files have new timestamps. Is there a better way to uninstall KSP so I get a totally fresh install?
