Built-in clearance lights on the extended end of animated parts that one can set the red/green/blue values and other typical light config values.  I'm particularly thinking about the Gigantor solar arrays.  Anything that moves and is that big and sticks out from the craft just begs for clearance lights.  The magnetometer boom is another one.  Not only would it look great, but would also make it easier to not jet kerbals through solar panels when on the dark side of an orbit and such
