Duplicate parts in R&D, have to unlock each time

I've found this issue in an RP-1 career game in KSP 1.8.1, one part just keeps duplicating itself whenever I unlock and try to use it.

Checked the logs and there's an error that looks like the culprit, but no indication of what's causing it or how to fix it:

I have over 100 mods in this save, most of which are RP-1 dependencies; this issue has only been happening today and I haven't changed any mods that could have caused it.

Is this a mod issue, a problem with a cached file somewhere or a corrupted save that can be edited to fix it?

Can you check to see if the item already been unlocked (i.e. is available to build with)?

It looks like the error is stating that the named part is already in the list (of unlocked parts), which would imply it's already been unlocked and is somehow appearing in the tech tree more that once. 

 

Somehow, that part appears to be already in the list of unlocked parts, but is still showing as unlocked. The only way I can see this happening is either altering or updating the tech tree (or parts) without starting a new save. I don't play with unlockable parts but I would assume that the "unlocked parts" information would be accessible within your save file and could therefore be amended (back it up before you attempt to fix it).
