Duna Challenge

Hi guys, I want to propose this challange to see the answer of the Kerbal community and the state of research of the other players.

- Launch a engine free vessel to reach Duna with 1 passenger

- Launch a 3 passenger rover and reach the first vessel

- Launch a vessel to bring a large living space + food / gas to the 4 Kerbalians on Duna

- Launch a vessel that can bring back 2 Kerbalians

- Bring back all the 4 Kerbalians

Rules:

- No mechjeb

- No mods

- Max living period of Kerbalians on Duna is 4 years alone, need to be reach by another vessel before this period to get gas / food

I just loose my week end on this idea, the state of my long term mission is here:

- Engine free vessel with only 1 passengers - landed safely using parachutes

- Rover with motor and 3 passengers - landed safely closer then 20km from the first vessel using parachutes, then reach the first vessel.

If u like the Challenge try to do something and post the screenshots

If u win the challenge doing this, u developed the basic knowledge to reach virtually any planet, planetoid or moon of the system and reach home safely

I'll probably have a go at this once I figure out the whole interplanetary travel thing.

Just landed a Airplane on Duna with one Kerbonaut in it, all went well, abit bouncy on the landing due to the lower gravity and all.

Now, only one problem, this was a science mission, which means a mission to evaluate the atmosphere (who said Kerbals always do it right? A probe would probably have been better than a manned flight) so the Kernichians only installed a atmospheric turbojet engine, that means one kerbonaut is currently stranded on Duna due to the lack of oxygen in the atmosphere.

Rescue mission awaits...

Really fine design!! I like it!

Don't u think that, during the Duna atmosphere entry, its quite messy how your trajectory varies, if u fly with a high pitch u can see the trajectory in the map view "shifting" without changing apoapsis or velocity around the planet, i can't figure out why happens that but is really useful if you are aiming to land stricly somewhere, for example next to other vessels.

I have 6 Karbanauts on Duna but i don't even planned a return mission.

I am really upset that i can't attach stock solar panels, other capsules on a single ship, that things to build a static Duna station for long period missions or better colonization. I am working on a ship with stock parts that will use the biggest stock tank, firstly to contain fuel and when landed to be converted in a living space but i understand that i am falling in role playing game heheheh...
