EVA Construction not working

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

I am having issues while building in EVA with the engineer. For reference, I am orbiting at 80km around Kerbin, and I am using Bill who is an eng with 5 stars. I am trying to build stuff on the outside of the parent ship but I cannot seem to get past the first weld. The small cubic strut is not producing a snap attachment node after I put it on the ship, so anything with a snap node cannot attach to it in that manner. Bill is on the ladder right next to it. Is this a bug or am I missing something? FYI I am trying to attach a baby decoupler to it, which didn't work so I tried an oscar fuel tank, and that didn't work either. Here is a screen cap of my issue.  Thank you for any help!KN9hWQO.png

The nodes will not show up if you are farther than 7 meters from the root part. Probably not a bug, just an oversight. You can increase that distance by editing settings.cfg file, the line in there is EVA_CONSTRUCTION_RANGE.

Bill is more than 7m from the part? Wow, you have to be practically on top of it. I will try out the config edit, thanks!

It looks like you wont be needing this after all. They just released 1.11.1 and it says:

* Fix AttachNodes not displaying when the root part of a vessel is outside the construction range, but the part is and shoudl be valid as an attachment.

Also, we found a typo! haha. Thank you for pointing this out. I went on steam and read the changelog.
