How do you update ksp?

So I downloaded ksp about a year ago, but I got it on the ksp website. In the download folder there is a notebook titled "READ ME". It said that on windows mode, you get the ksplauncher.exe out. I cannot find it. Can someone show me where it is please? Also, on the page where it says current version, and most recent version, there is an update button but I cannot click it. So can someone please show me how to update the simulator?

The launcher and updater is broken since ages back.

Just download the latest version from the shop, install it and use the KSP.exe (or whatever it's called in windows or mac).
