FPS Stutter/drop when adding parts onto a vehicle in the VAB and SPH in KSP 1.11.2?

Recommended Posts

I've been waiting to update my KSP saves from 1.10.1 for a while due to a landing gear light bug and now that its fixed I went to 1.11.2 for mod support and the new EVA system/build feature but ever since I updated my saves the game has become unplayable due to extreme frame stuttering when I add parts to new or existing vehicles (the more part additions the worse). Pre-made crafts will loaded normally and when there existing parts are taken off and put back on they can be launched and flown without anything issues but adding new parts causes the issue unless the craft is saved and loaded again with that new part but that still doesn't fix the problem with adding new parts.

I have tried verifying file integrity, uninstalling KSP with clean saves and no existing user data and with or without mods but it has no effect on the bug.

I use Tantares, Tantares SP, Tantares LV, Neptune Camera, Kerbal Engineer and Scatter for mods.

I have not seen people experiencing this issue and realized sharing my experience with this bug spreads awareness about it and potential fixes.

Excuse me if this is not right place for this question I am new to the forum.

Try it without Kerbal Engineer to see if it still does it. I run the same mods as you (except ker and scatterer (doubt it's that in vab)) and had to uninstall KER as it was doing strange things.
