This uses my favourite launch stage - KW 3m by 6m tank, 3m NERVA engine, and wings. This version also features air-breathing jet boosters jettisoned at 8000 metres.

Above that, well, you can see it all in the images.

So, although the descent stage was wrecked, and the return vehicle made useless, the rover landed right-side-up. Thanks to that piece of luck, I can do what I planned to do - and then maybe organise a rescue mission later with an Angel II or III.

I seriously doubt this really needed such a big ascent stage. Someone else could have done it with a stock launcher, I'm sure.

Just a question, how do you get out of that vehicle? Used it before and couldn't find out how to EVA my guy again.

Right click its hatch. It should come up with your crew members names and an option to EVA.

It's called 3m Nuclear engine' or something like that. It's on the forums somewhere.
