[KSP 1.12] Underpowered Rover

Been in love with the new update, but is anybody else having trouble with their rovers being real underpowered now? I have a rover that I landed just pre- and it had no trouble climbing similar inclines on the Mun before (at least I didn't notice any trouble) and  after an hour of button mashing, I think it's completely stuck in one of the midland craters. I know the team did a big overhaul on rover mechanics, and I'm wondering if this is just me. Thanks!

If it is the game and if it's applicable to every wheel, I'll be very sad. My ranger Carragorn already needed 20 wheels to get around in moderate gravity, and I already had most of the workarounds I needed for rover stability.
