My Duna SSTV signal theories.

So I just found out about the duna sstv signal (I'm late to the part I know) and I thought I might share my theories.
I saw some people saying that it was originally meant to be a puzzle but the puzzle never got finished so what if it relates to that hinted planet in ksp2 next gen astronauts video? I was thinking that was just hinting about interstellar travel but who knows maybe it instead is talking about the planet that you can discover after you decode the signal ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

My other theory is that it somehow relates to the face on duna, perhaps the sstv signal and face on duna is a relic of past kerbal civilization and somehow most of their species was wiped and what's left lost their history as well as their technology?

Interesting thought. The origin story of the Duna SSTV signal does involve a planet in the outskirts of the Kerbol system, far beyond anything that was added in KSP. If the teaser in KSP2 video really is a planet beyond Eeloo, it could, indeed, be inspired by that story, whether that planet's actually in KSP2 or if it's just an Easter egg. Of course, it could also be entirely coincidental or might not hint at a planet at all, but just a general idea of exploring beyond Kerbol system.

Personally, I think it'd be great to see the idea of scavenger hunt sort of adventure to find a lost planet be realized in KSP2, but assembling necessary info from things like SSTV transmissions might be a bit much for average player.

Perhaps that diagram shows that the kerbol system is in fact a binary, with a smaller star orbiting very far away, sort of like Valentine in extrasolar.
