KSP and unity crash violently when entering flight mode from VAB

Recommended Posts

everything is smooth, entering facilities and then leaving to the menu but when I try to enter flight mode it all crashes. I haven't been able to root out the cause at all and it keeps happening every time I try to enter flight mode.

using windows and non-steam version of KSP 1.12.3

album of gamedata folder: https://imgur.com/a/GMttWHz

ksp.log https://mega.nz/file/ylJVjQjS#bnnYKMyyNVEnyWohXL1KYlhZJolSx3tevAFvHQhO2cc

any help to find & fix the cause would be greatly appreciated!

Man a heavily modded game...

You have several errors with parts and a duplicate type within an assembly, and a failed load of WildBlueTools.  Have you tried flying a straight stock ship?  My guess is you have parts on the craft you are trying to fly that are now invalid due to the errors in the log.  Tantares is also complaining  of null reference exceptions, BarisBridge, etc.  there are others.  You might have a corruped mod, or a duplicate dll somewhere...

The log provides clues as to what the offending mods might be.  Given how heavily your game is modded, I'm sure that reinstalling all mods is not a simple task.  It is up to you, but if you look in the log, and search for the keywoards "nullreference", or "exception", or "error". it will point you to the mods that either are failing to load or are throwing errors.  Try reinstalling those mods first.

That may save you a boatload of time performing reinstalls.

I'm assuming your game saves depend on a large number of the part mods and any modded resources or the like.  So, you can also try doing a minimal install with just the mods you know are necessary for your game save with vessels that depend on them and see if they play nice.

A new game save may also work, but I don't know how much time you have invested in that game save.

Hope that helps some.  You have options, the only cost is the time invested in solving the problem.
