Cant select parts

I wanted to play realism over haul so I used this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6glycvICehU). I followed everything except for the optional mods that he presented. Real solar system didn't work but I didn't care enough to spend 2 hours finding a way to fix it. Everything else worked, but whenever I try to select a part in the VAB or the SPH it just doesn't work. All the other buttons work except for the crew, change editor, and actions. It registers that I click it because the button turns a darker shade when I click it but nothing happens.
